Project # SSHWY00496 The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing repairs to the Ketchikan Water Street Bridge #797 in order to increase its vehicular load carrying capacity to remove the current traffic restrictions in place near the Bauer Way Alley. A public notice was issued in July 2023. The proposed project includes rehabilitation work to concrete beams located on the underside of the bridge to increase the bridge load rating. This will strengthen the bridge to all legal loads without restrictions and allow for unrestricted parking and pedestrian access once again.
