This Request for Information (RFI) initiates market research under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10.002(b)(2)(iii). This is not a Request for Proposals. No final solicitation documents exist at this time. This RFI does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that the Government will take procurement action in this matter. The MRDS program will leverage commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) items to the greatest extent practical. The Modular Remote Disassembly System (MRDS) will be comprised of COTS milling and drilling machines. SEE ATTACHED FOR DETAILS.

The USCG requires continued hardware and software licensing maintenance support for Trellix products, which are required to continue operations on USCG owned systems. The renewal of Trellix will ensure software licenses are maintained for standalone communications networks, which will provide secure and non-secure voice, radio, satellite and data transfer interoperability to CG units with local, state and federal agencies. This brand name exception to fair opportunity for brand name Trellix software maintenance suppoort services is pursuant to FAR 16.505(a)(4)(i), restricitng items peculiar to one manufacturer.See the attached Brand Name Justification.This notice fulfills the posting requirements of FAR 16.505(b)(2)(ii)(D).
