The financial structure to manage the grant has been established and access to the grant management system is confirmed. The recommended use for the grant funding is to replace existing siren locations and if funding is available include a portable siren system in the grant scope. The importance of completing a replacement of all county sirens is to keep one operating system in place. The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is seeking bids for clearing trail side vegetation encroaching into the trail corridor on the 2.5-mile Boulder Canyon Trail (BCT). Trail user safety is a priority for BCPOS and these services are required to protect the high volume of visitors that frequent the trail system daily.
