The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC) plans to solicit proposals to construct a tugboat designed to provide icebreaking/ice-management services on the St. Lawrence Seaway, handle aids to navigation (buoys), and push the Corporation's two (buoy and gate lifter) barges.  The tug shall also be capable of secondary roles in fire-fighting, pollution response, and ship assist.The tug is to be of all-welded steel construction, classified by ABS as an ice class tug, and shall incorporate an ice-breaking bow form.  The tug shall be 118 feet long with a 45 foot beam and a design navigational draft of approximately 16 feet.  The tug shall be powered by twin CPP Z-drive propulsion units, each driven by a high speed diesel engine.  T...
