MELD Manufacturing holds more than a dozen patents for the solid state additive friction stir welding technology. Additionally MELD Machines represent more than a decade of research and development. They are streamlined and painstakingly designed.
Develop solid state additive processes for structural repairs of aluminum and steelstructures. Powder heat treatment and laser-assisted cold spray (LACS) will be used to improvethe mechanical properties of cold spray-based repairs of aluminum alloy structures. Solid statestructural repairs using additive friction stir deposition will be assessed for microstructure andmechanical properties.
