Specifically, DEVCOM-AC is seeking a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) product composed of graphene which can be mass-produced as a liquid ink capable of being utilized in standard additive manufacturing processes such as but not limited to inkjet and/or screen printing, direct write, aerosol jet, etc.
Additive manufacturing processes currently have limited monitoring capabilities, offering users little to no options in mitigating the high levels of product and process failures. This technology uses both infrared (IR) and visual cameras that allow users to monitor the build in real-time and correct the process as needed to reduce the time and material wasted in parts that will not meet quality specifications.
Experience in manufacturing, assembling, and delivering products based upon customer-provided specifications b. Experience in manufacturing unmanned aerial systems c. Experience in additive manufacturing processes d. Information on previous/current experience and projects that may be comparable, similar to, or closely approximated with the scope of work e.
This powder can then be used for additive manufacturing feed stock in space, and completing the parts or products by the additive manufacturing in space.Advantages: Metallurgical thermochemical refining during the powder making method is required to produce high quality metal powder from asteroids or meteorites that is suitable for AM processes such as selected laser melting (SLM) powder bed, laser metal deposition (LMD) powder fed, electron beam
Potential Applications General applications would be multi-material printing for additive manufacturing and powder-based processes.
