The Government is investigating the feasibility of utilizing commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) additive manufacturing technologies in expeditionary operating environments to produce functional parts and training aids. This RFI will assist the Navy in developing the design and capability requirements of a portable additive manufacturing system for the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF).

The Ogden Air Logistics Complex (OO-ALC) Innovation Center has a requirement for a Stratasys Fortus 450MC additive manufacturing systems (3D Printers).  The 3D Printers are used for the manufacture of polymer plastic parts that meet the specifications for use on aircraft weapons systems.   

The requirement is for the procurement of Tier 1 Additive Manufacturing (AM) Ultimaker S5 systems and the initial support and sustainment of those systems, to meet Chief of Naval Operations Design for Maintaining Maritime Superiority Ver 2.0 and Marine Corps Order 4700.4. Details of the requirement are provided via the Performance Work Statement (PWS) (Attachment 1) and a Description document (Attachment 2), both attached to this announcement.

Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is soliciting information from qualified Suppliers on behalf of the Material Science and Engineering Department for an Electron Beam Powder Bed Additive Manufacturing System that is fully controllable for a wide range of parameters, including beam trigger control and beam steering/deflection.
