(c) This Sources Sought is issued for the purpose of market research.The Government is pursuing an Aircraft Smart Weapons Test Set (ASWTS) that is platform agnostic to replace three types of existing armament testers currently used to support fighter aircraft.
General Performance Requirements: The smart weapons tester shall be a reusable, repairable, hand held tester. It shall provide, upon demand, the ability to confirm the status of and aid in troubleshooting aircraft smart weapons systems through the MIL-STD-1760 BUS. The smart weapons tester must access the aircraft system through existing aircraft connectors.
The 48CTS/TGED at Eglin AFB has a requirement to purchase one (1) SmartCan Armament Tester Part # 3162-000-00 and (1) MIL-STD-1760 weapon umbilical cable Part # 3060-288-00The Smart Can tester has the ability to test Alternate Mission Equipment and Aircraft Armament Equipment including pylons, launchers, bomb racks, and pods.
As long as the weapon detection system meets/has all required salient characteristics and performs the exact requirements specified, the offer will be acceptable.
