Testing INTENT: It is the intent of the Department of Veterans Affairs, (herein afterwards referred to as VISN 15) to establish an agreement for Point of Care Reagents, Test Kits & Sets for COVID-19 Antigen test and controls.

This requirement is to improve the OraQuick® Ebola Rapid Antigent Test. The OraQuick® Ebola Rapid Antigen Test 510(k) was cleared by FDA in October 2019. As of June 2022, there is limited supply of critical reagents (both control and diagnostic antibodies) used in the Ebola 510(k) cleared device. 

VISN 6 facilities require the Abbott BinaxNOW Antigen CARD test with Positive and Negative Control Swab, Extraction Reagent and Nasal Swabs, visual read of test result, 40 tests per box. The required test kit is available on FSS contract and not available through any other distributor, SDVOSB or VOSB. No other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements per FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
