In addition, the two HPUs on the middle wall are for operation of the Auxiliary Chamber miter gates.  The modified four-corner system reduces the number of HPUs on the middle wall from four to two.•           Two (2) HPUs on the land wall; one upstream and one downstream for operation of the Auxiliary Chamber culvert valves and miter gates.The requirement specifically includes:a.        

The contract generally includes the installation of four (4) dedicated hydraulic power units (HPU) on the main chamber with new variable frequency drive (VFD) motor control centers (MCC), installation of a new central HPU for the auxiliary chamber, demolition of the existing central HPU, and demolition of existing hydraulic pipes and valves associated with the main chamber.

Industry Engagement DayThe Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pittsburgh District intends to advertise a construction contract for the completion of a new 110' x 600' lock chamber to replace the existing auxiliary chamber at Montgomery Locks and Dam near Monaca, PA.  The solicitation for the project is scheduled to be posted in 2024.  The scope will include demolition of the existing auxiliary river wall, guard walls, and ancillary features. 

The scope of the project consists of the construction of a new 110' x 600' lock chamber to replace the existing auxiliary chamber at Montgomery Locks and Dam.As part of this procurement, the Pittsburgh District Intends to specify band name product on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-l(a)(2) for Pelco Corporation.
