Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a requirement for a new auxiliary chamber downstream closure system at Montgomery Locks and Dam, Ohio River, Monaca, Bever County, Pennsylvania. The major features of the requirement are identified below:The contract is a fabrication supply contract including furnishing and delivering a complete coffer beam assembly.

Cancel the Invitation For Bid (IFB) in accordance w ith FAR Subpart 14.404-1(c)(8). The IFB is being converted to a Request for Proposal (RFP) in accordance w ith FAR 14.404(e)(1).

Two (2) HPUs on the river wall; one upstream and one downstream for operation of the Main Chamber culvert valves and miter gates. ?Two (2) HPUs on the middle wall; one upstream and one downstream for operation of Main Chamber culvert valves and miter gates. In addition, the two HPUs on the middle wall are for operation of the Auxiliary Chamber miter gates.

The project consists of a main lock and an auxiliary lock; a dam containing nine Tainter gates; and a fixed submersible dike reaching the Missouri Side of the River.  The main lock is 1200 ft by 110 ft with a lift gate at the upstream end and a miter gate at the downstream end of the lock chamber.
