Contractor agrees to provide, on an annually pre-approved replacement plan, all labor, equipment, tools, materials, traffic control, and incidentals necessary for the installation, repair, replacement, and removal of the Gazex® Remote Avalanche Control (RAC) system located in Caltrans Districts 3, 9, and 10 in mountainous terrain. Helicopter assisted construction techniques are required.

The avalanche specialist must be proficient in avalanche forecasting, physically able to access appropriate snow fields and dig test pits, experienced and knowledgeable in the operation of the Falcon GT avalauncher and experienced in developing avalanche control programs.It is the intent of the state to award one (1) contract in response to this solicitation.
