SURVEY SERVICES FOR HYDRAULIC MODELLING Project Description :Undertake bathymetric and topographic survey to support hydraulic modelling, on the Little Saskatchewan River from Lake Audy Dam to the confluence with the Assiniboine River.
The City of Kitchener wishes to retain a professional services provider with expertise in surveying, watercourse engineering, and fluvial geomorphology to undertake a topographic and bathymetric survey of watercourse structures and watercourse cross-sections in support of 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling of watercourses, inline hydraulic structures, and floodplains in InfoWorks ICM hydraulic modeling software.
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Cold Regions Research Laboratory (CRREL) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Riegl USA, Inc. upon the basis of the authority provided at FAR 13.501(a)(1)(i).ERDC-CRREL intends to procure one (1) Riegl VQ-840-G bathymetric laser scanning system and accessories to support coastline, shallow water, river ways, and hydraulic engineering infrastructure mapping
However, without the requisite bathymetric data, the development of the detailed engineering design is not possible. The availability of the bathymetric data will also permit an accurate calculation of the downstream benefit in terms of the degree to which the flood levels would be reduced.The site is owned by the City of Orange and is located within the South Mountain Reservation in Essex County.
