DPH is seeking expedited collective purchasing for COVID point-of-care tests due to the public health emergency. The Department of Public Health has been provided with a notice from DHHS indicating that each state will be able to purchase COVID point-of-care diagnostic tests starting with the Abbot BinaxNow test, through the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) program.

Abbott Labs BinaxNOW is an COVID-19 antigen test that provides rapid results tests in fifteen minutes (15). This is available for order off the federal (U.S.) supply schedule. This is a proprietary product of Abbott. In the event that additional BinaxNOW test kits are needed throughout the duration of Governor Mill’s Civil State of Emergency regarding COVID-19, this PJF will apply.
