Implement various Best Management Practices (BMPs) to minimize turbidity. Dewater the dredged material as specified and filter the collected carriage water to remove contaminants to standards described in specifications. Place the material in the prescribed staging area, as indicated on the contract drawings and in the specifications. Clean-up the site and demobilize when dredging work is completed.
The project represents phase 2 of a comprehensive effort to retrofit the drainage system in the project area, incorporate water quality Best Management Practices (BMPs), and preliminary designs for critical improvements. This project will be funded by state and local funds, a majority of which will be from the state's Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant Program.
