On November 10, 2020, the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives adopted, as an emergency regulation, changes in Title 12, Chapter 14 of the Alaska Administrative Code. To increase the availability of direct-entry midwifery services during the COVID-19 pandemic and future health crises, the regulations provide for emergency courtesy licenses in urgent situations.
