The Federal Library and Information Network (FEDLINK) requires contract support to provide Books and Media Acquisition Services from contractors, publishers, distributors, or producers of non-print firm ordered materials that can supply books and Media (non-serial publications) and associated acquisition support services to Federal libraries, information centers, and other Federal offices. 

This includes books, magazines, and music scores, in audio and braille format. NLS also loans specially designed play back equipment to residents of the United States and US citizens living abroad. These patrons are unable to read or use standard print materials because of a visual or physical impairment.
