Under the authority of chapter 4 of the Solano County Ordinances, the Animal Care Division is responsible for shelter services for stray animals, owner surrenders, and animals impounded by the Animal Control Division for cruelty/neglect cases and those quarantined for rabies; and licensing animals. Each year the Animal Care Division has an average intake of 5,980 animals.
