James City County is soliciting sealed competitive bids from qualified and experienced professional contractors licensed in the state of Virginia with the demonstrated capability and capacity for Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School Safe Routes To School project as described in this Invitation for Bids.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to seek the service of a qualified professional contractor to remove existing Hollow Metal doors and frames and install new aluminum/FRP doors and frames at the Clara Bolen Elementary School and the Tawas High School/Middle School. The Work under this Project consists of the following : The scope of work consists of renovating all existing restrooms in the facility. Plumbing work includes, but is not limited to, replacing toilets, urinals, lavatories, and sinks. Architectural work includes, but is not limited to, removing and salvaging toilet accessories, painting, and re-installing salvaged toilet accessories. Two additive alternates contemplate (1) replacing ceramic floor tile and wainscot in gang restrooms, and (2) replacing drop-in classroom sinks that have built-in water fountain bubblers. The Work under this project consist of replacing the schools HVAC water source heat pumps with hot gas reheat dehumidification type manufactured by Trane of similar type and capacity and upgrading controls as required by Schneider Electric to work with existing equipment. A new stairwell water source heat pump will be added and connected into the existing condenser water system. A new ductless split cassette unit will be added to computer room for supplemental cooling with condenser mounted on roof. Piping and ductwork will be modified and added.
