The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, andother items necessary to perform invasive species clearing on 100 acres of Lake Dardanelle and 65 acres of Ozark Lake. Vegetation shall be cut using hand tools and/or mechanical hand tools (chainsaws) and stumps treated with herbicide to prevent re-sprouting. Remnants of cut vegetation may be left on site.

One grant element is the removal and eradication of invasive species and vegetation in an approximately 1.2-acre area of the Northfield Town Forest. This project consists of two elements. The first element is the cutting of the invasive species and other vegetation to knee high level to allow for pesticide application and for volunteers to maintain and control future growth. This element shall be completed by 3/31/23.

In general, the Work of these projects includes all labor, equipment, and materials to selectively remove invasive woody trees and shrubs and thin select native species. Owner-approved cutting methods shall be described in Section 2 and Section 3. Extreme care shall be taken when conducting work within the Work Sites to lessen damage to private property, including structures and desirable vegetation.

Owner invites sealed Bidder’s Proposals for the Work described in detail in the Contract and generally described as follows:  the Work includes all labor, equipment, and materials to selectively remove invasive woody trees and shrubs within a 35.5 acre parcel.  Owner-approved cutting methods shall be described in Section 2 and Section 3.  Extreme care shall be taken when conducting work within to lessen damage to native vegetation. 

Any exceptions to the standard clearing specifications outlined in Sections 3, 4 and 5 and Attachment D shall be noted in Section 2. Construction vehicles will be cleaned of vegetative debris prior to entering the limits of construction to limit the spread of invasive species. Mechanical vegetation clearing activities will be conducted outside of the USFWS recommended timing window for land disturbance and vegetation clearing to avoid take of migratory bird nests within the project area.
