Recent updates to state law require Commerce to advance participation of vulnerable populations and overburdened communities in comprehensive planning processes. In response, Commerce has established this new grant program. Commerce has budgeted $2 million of Climate Commitment Act Funds for a community-based participation program.
By expanding the use of TDR/LCLIP across the Puget Sound region more individuals and communities will be able to participate in incentive programs that protect ecologically important lands and support climate change adaptation and resilience.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB), through the California Climate Investments Program awarded the City of Commerce to develop a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and Displacement Avoidance Plan.
