The Hampton VA Medical Center, 100 Emancipation Drive, Hampton, VA 23667-0001, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Services (P&LMS), requires the H HOLOGIC Panther equipment, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) for COVID testing, reagents, consumables, and supplies. The Hampton P&LMS is currently utilizing the Hologic equipment on-site. The Hologic Panther System is used for molecular testing, with high-performing assay and throughput automation.

PHO’s laboratory utilizes the Chemagic 360 platform to assist in performing automated nucleic acid extraction for downstream testing of covid-19. PHO is seeking information regarding the available reagents and consumables within the market that can be supported on these systems, in order to guide PHO’s strategic planning in regards to ongoing procurements for covid-19 testing.

The GeneXpert IV and GeneXpert XVI provide the ability to detect a variety of organisms and are used for COVID testing of individuals traveling on missions abroad. Not having a service/maintenance contract would increase the turn around time for results up to three days (3) if samples were shipped to other military facilities or civilian laboratories due to any instrument failure. Description of equipment requirements: SARS-COV-2 & CMV Reagent & Control Testing Kits The VAMC in Ann Arbor utilizes the Roche Cobas 6800/8800 platform for SARS-COV-2 and CMV testing. No other reagent or control kits are compatible. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement.
