NIST SP 800-171 ASSESSMENT The Department of Defense (DoD) has issued an interim rule (2019-D041), effective November 30, 2020, related to the cyber security requirements in DFARS 252.204-7012. The purpose of this new rule is to assess the cybersecurity protections each individual contractor has in place and includes the implementation of a DoD NIST SP 800-171 Assessment Methodology.
