Foster Dam Spillway gates require stoplogs to be installed to perform maintenance and inspections. Additionally, one of these gates is designated as the "weir gate" and allows for downstream fish passage. This spill gate requires that stoplogs remain in place to hold water back and the gate in the open position. On top of the stoplogs is a weir that allows for water and fish to pass through.
