The National Weather Service (NWS) is an operating unit within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which is an agency of the US Department of Commerce. NWS is charged with providing weather, water, and climate data, forecasts and warnings for the protection of life and property and enhancement of the national economy, and has a critical function in ensuring society is prepared for and responds to weather-dependent events.
The Department of Commerce/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction/National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service/Satellite Applications and Research (DOC/NOAA/NCWCP/NESDIS/STAR), intends to award a Purchase Order pursuant to Simplified Acquisition Procedures under the authority of FAR Part 13.
