BROAD AGENCY Announcement (BAA) AFPMB-BAA-22-01FOR THE PROTECTION OF DEPLOYED MILITARY PERSONNEL FROM THREATS POSED BY DISEASE-CARRYING ARTHROPODSThis BAA is intended to solicit pre-proposals for AFPMB for those parts of development not related to a specific system or hardware procurement in accordance with Title 2, Subtitle A, Chapter II, Part 200 CFR.
Support may include technical assistance at Headquarters Air Force, Field Operating Agencies, Numbered Air Forces (NAFs), Main Operating Bases (MOBs) and reachback support to forward deployed military personnel at Forward Operating Locations (FOLs) as well as a surge capability to quickly respond to wartime, contingencies and manmade or natural disasters.

The AFPMB is soliciting pre-proposals for original, innovative research designed to develop new interventions for protection of deployed military personnel from medically relevant pests, including arthropod vectors of disease pathogens. Diseases of significant concern include Lyme disease, malaria, dengue virus and other arboviruses.
