Further, bird strikes threaten combat capability of USAF aircraft and the safety of aircrews.The objective of this effort is to provide the USAF with a streamlined acquisition solution for Bird Detection Radar (BDR) or Bird/Drone Detection Radar (B/DDR) units and support services.

The purchase of radar units and services under this Statement of Work (SOW) may occur as initial investments into detection radar technology; to recapitalize aging, inefficient BDRs currently maintained at DAF airfields; or to support sustainment of current radars on DAF installations.  The availability of funds within each Squadron, Wing, and/or Major Command will dictate the number of radar units acquired under this SOW. 

The intent of this pre-solicitation synopsis is to notify potential offerors of a Firm Fixed Price, non-personal contract for the lease of an Avian Radar, Unmanned Aerial Systems Detection System, Airfield Camera-Video System, Services and Support at Tyndall Air Force Base (AFB), Florida.
