As part of its 2023 Active Transportation improvements, the District of Squamish is planning to undertake several improvements along the Discovery Trail. The improvements include building upon the existing trail footprint to create a 3m wide asphalt muti-use surface along with pathway lighting. The location of work is from Carson Place to Dentville, which will connect to existing lit and paved sections of the Discovery Trail.

More specifically, work will include for the removal of asphalt surface, subgrade excavation, storm drainage upgrades and curb/gutter installation. Work will also include for trail development including asphalt sidewalks, asphalt infill, slope stability improvements, vegetation management, signage installation and pedestrian crossing enhancement.
