Develop a City Solar Empowerment Program that advances the Tucson Resilient Together (TRT) plan by transitioning homes to renewable solar energy thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including TRT actions: E-3 Procure zero-emission electricity and decarbonize City and community power supply. E-4 Install and promote distributed energy resources (DERs) such as rooftop solar to provide local renewable energy and enhance energy resilience.
Energy storage systems under this program must be operated primarily for electric load management or shifting electric generation to more beneficial time periods while operating in parallel with the utility grid. Eligible energy storage systems are chemical, thermal, or mechanical systems that may be installed alone or paired with another distributed energy resource technology.
