The objective of this requirement is to evaluate the effectiveness of a single layer armor system and compare its performance to the two-layer system required by the Department of State Armored Vehicle Specification. This effort will determine if there is opportunity to reduce the weight and overall armoring cost of DEAV AVs while maintaining equal protection from ballistic and blast threats.
