Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) annual DOT Summer Transportation Internship Program for Diverse Groups (STIPDG). The Contractor shall be responsible for the daily administration and facilitation of the STIPDG. The STIPDG Program places a total of 80 to 100 college interns in DOT Offices in any State or Territory, or in Washington DC.
The STI program is designed to introduce secondary school students to all modes of transportation careers and encourage them to pursue transportation-related courses of study at the college or university level. From the success of the first STI on the SCSU campus in 1993, other FHWA Division Offices, State DOTs and colleges and universities expressed interest in and established STIs.
