The purpose and intent of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit sealed bids from a qualified contractor to provide required services to meet the requirements for acceptance of a roadway into the Virginia Department of Transportation System as an “industrial access road.” All questions pertaining to this invitation for bid must be emailed to Caprice White no later than 2 p.m. on Oct. 23, 2019. NINDS HARD DRIVE RESTORATION AFTER BUILDING 35 FLOOD Solicitation ID/Procurement Identifier: 75N95023Q00118 Ultimate Completion Date: Tue May 16 17:00:00 GMT 2023

On December 24 and 25, flooding in NINDS Building 35 resulted in damanage to multiple hard drives from the Gordan lab and emergency services were needed for a restoration attempt. It was determined that this constituted unusual and compelling urgency as a delay in receiving the recovered data would have severely impacted the lab's ability to resume work.

Restoration will include the construction of a floodplain bench and series of cascades and pools which will be stabilized with stone. Imbricated rip rap will be used to stabilize the upper end of the cascades. The construction site is to be accessed via the construction entrance located on the 10047 Beechwood Drive property.
