Background Check/Security Requirements: All persons entering the facilities for e-waste recycling service may be required to meet Sheriff’s Department security clearance requirements. In submitting the proposal, the Contractor authorizes the Sheriff’s Department to perform criminal and general background check on all personnel providing e-waste recycling service.
It may be possible for the County to haul loads of palletized E-Waste to the recycler’s facility, if the facility is within a reasonable distance. Steuben County began charging residents for all televisions and monitors in 2016. Other “eligible” E-waste is accepted for no charge. The Erwin Transfer Station facility is equipped with a loading dock, at which a trailer has traditionally been staged by the E-WASTE recycler.
