is considering an easement application for erosion control structures proposed for construction at the mouth of Glacier Creek, Valdez, Alaska, specifically on State owned, DNR-DMLW managed tidelands within Sections 2 and 11, Township 9 South, Range 6 West, Copper River Meridian, Alaska.
and Sections 25 and 26, Township 3 North, Range 3 West, Fairbanks Meridian REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW) received a public access easement application from the DOF in September of 2011.
Please also note the following application clarification: The applicant proposes to construct a trail approximately 6,800 feet long, and approximately 8 feet wide. The original public notice and application documents indicated an easement width of 25 feet. The 25-foot easement width refers to the width of the requested easement corridor, not the constructed trail itself. The public is invited to comment on this activity.
The FOC installation was completed in July 2001 under a private easement (ADL 415791). The applicant proposes to renew the easement and convert it to a public utility easement. This easement application only applies to the portions of the FOC, and associated infrastructure, that are installed on state land. REQUESTED TERM: In perpetuity DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: March 2, 2022 The public is invited to comment on this activity.
The application states that cut timber will be stacked onsite for firewood, however, if the easement is ultimately issued the applicant would be required to follow current forestry stipulations for timber harvest on state lands. See attached map for more detailed location information. DMLW is considering issuing a public access easement measuring approximately 400 ft X 60 ft.
