The purpose of this RFQ is to initiate a competitive bid process to select a highly qualified Delegate Chief Building Official (DCBO) Firm for the construction of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for the Solar Energy Generating Systems (SEGS) Units VIII and IX Projects is completed on schedule and in accordance with all conditions, and applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards (LORS).

The purpose of this RFQ is to initiate a competitive bid process to select a highly qualified Delegate Chief Building Official (DCBO) Firm for the construction of BESS at Solar Energy Generating Systems (SEGS) Units VIII and IX, as well as the demolition of SEGS Unit VIII.

The potential sites comprise of 15-20 acres and will be pursuant to a Lease or License Agreement with the County, for the purpose of installing, owning, operating, and/or maintaining thereon a solar energy generating system or systems (the “Solar Energy System(s)” or “System(s)”).

For these reasons, the MPCA has deemed Connexus Energy to be the only entity with which the MPCA can enter into the option to lease, for the future purpose of the solar energy generating system pilot project.

A primary feature of the SPPP is that the Solar Energy Generating Systems are installed with no capital requirements from participating State departments and agencies.

Once the Qualified Pool is established, the Clean Energy Unit (CEU) will provide State departments and agencies with opportunities to install Solar Energy Generating Systems, batteries, and/or microgrids in order to contribute to the achievement of the State¿s goals pertaining to renewable energy generation and procurement, reduction of the State¿s carbon footprint, and other State policy goals and objectives.
