One grant element is the removal and eradication of invasive species and vegetation in an approximately 1.2-acre area of the Northfield Town Forest. This project consists of two elements. The first element is the cutting of the invasive species and other vegetation to knee high level to allow for pesticide application and for volunteers to maintain and control future growth. This element shall be completed by 3/31/23.

USDA proposes developing portions of the plantation site near the North Research Station for a temporary base of operations during the ALB eradication process. Site improvements will ensure the required infrastructure is accessible to install and operate two 24’W x 60’L modular trailers and four 8’W x 30’L CONEX storage units.
