Mini-Load Machines – PSC 3990 – NAICS 493110Issue Date: 30 March 2023The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) located in Crane, Indiana is conducting market research for vendors with the technical capabilities to provide upgraded and new equipment for the three existing Dematic Mini-Load Machines in the Automated Storage Retrieval System (ASRS) and upgrade to the latest Mini-Load Storage and Retrieval Machines (SRM) controls

This effort will includeinstallation of upgraded and new equipment for the three existing Dematic Mini-LoadMachines in the ASRS to the latest Mini-Load SRM controls components. Additionally,this effort will include the removal and reinstallation of the current bins as theGovernment wishes to keep the current bins that are currently used.

Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required service as there are no other authorized servicers of the TGW Mini-Load Storage System.  Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from TGW Systems Inc., the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the system. 

The storage system consists of 2 HK 750 Mini-load Cranes; which store 1 M DVDs per storage aisle.  This is a sole source requirement to Dematic Corp. (large business), the proprietary equipment manufacturer.

The MCIEAST Satellite Contracting Office has a requirement for the procurement of various parts for a small stacker (storage and retrieval system, mini loader)  at Fleet Readiness Center East aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina.The proposed solicitation is full and open.  The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is (333924) with a corresponding size standard of (750). 

Vendors are encouraged to assess the TDP for inconsistencies that may prevent successful installation of the latest Mini-Load SRM controls components. Based on this assessment, provide additional data required from the Government, if necessary, as a means to submit a complete and responsive quotation or proposal when/if the Government issues a solicitation for this effort.

This modernization includes, but is not limited to: replacement of mini-load cranes and rails, unit load turret trucks, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
