The scope of work is to perform a review of the risk information elaborated in INFO-0700, with the intent of confirming and where necessary, updating the information to reflect the current scientific understanding of risks to the embryo and fetus from in utero exposure to ionizing radiation. The outcome of this review will be used by the CNSC for future regulatory analyses.
Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND), Joint Project Manager – Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Sensors (JPM CBRN Sensors), Joint Product Leader for Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPdL-RND) office is interested in gathering information to further its understanding of the current industrial capabilities for the procurement of Joint Personal Dosimeter – Individual (JPD-I) systems. The JPD-I is a dosimeter worn on the wrist or chest allowing the determination and recording of the absorbed dose an Individual Service member receives from exposure to ionizing radiation. The JPD-I will transfer data through Near Field Communication (NFC) an...
Correction of AECL doses in the NDR, and Mortality and Cancer Incidence Analysis of Canadian NEWs (1000245949) Project Description :The over-arching objectives are to validate that the National Dose Registry (NDR) database contains all the best available data for Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) workers, and then to use the whole NDR dataset, linked to mortality (1950–2018) and cancer incidence (1969–2018), to characterize the dose-response relationship between occupational exposure to ionizing radiation and health outcomes. The contractor will:...
to ionizing radiation, which may include biologics (e.g., cytokines and free radical scavengers), cellular therapies, or drugs (e.g., anti-inflammatory agents, antibiotics, and anti-fibrotics).
The goal of this research is to support the development of safe and effective Medical Countermeasures (MCMs) to mitigate and/or treat tissue injuries exposure to ionizing radiation from a radiological or nuclear incident, thereby leading to a reduction in radiation-associated morbidities and mortalities.
The Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (NAVMED P-5055) requires naval activities to maintain the current dosimetry program for personnel who receive occupational exposure to ionizing radiation. Description: EPD Mk2.5, Photon-Beta Dosimeter, Grey, with AA Battery, Alligator Belt Clip and Security Battery Cap. Part number EPD/1/62920/120 EPD-N2 Mk2.5, Gamma-Neutron Dosimeter, Black, with AA Battery, Alligator Belt Clip and Security Battery Cap.
