to ionizing radiation and health outcomes.
The goal of this research is to support the development of safe and effective Medical Countermeasures (MCMs) to mitigate and/or treat tissue injuries exposure to ionizing radiation from a radiological or nuclear incident, thereby leading to a reduction in radiation-associated morbidities and mortalities.
Furthermore, the JPD-I will allow determination of the Radiation Exposure Status (RES) for each individual and/or unit. JPD-I will allow the Warfighter to gain a better understanding of the radiological and nuclear environment through detection capabilities providing determination of absorbed dose and equivalent dose that an individual Warfighter may receive from exposure to ionizing radiation.
Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND), Joint Project Manager – Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Sensors (JPM CBRN Sensors), Joint Product Leader for Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPdL-RND) office is interested in gathering information to further its understanding of the current industrial capabilities for the procurement of Joint Personal Dosimeter – Individual (JPD-I) systems. The JPD-I is a dosimeter worn on the wrist or chest allowing the determination and recording of the absorbed dose an Individual Service member receives from exposure to ionizing radiation. The JPD-I will transfer data through Near Field Communication (NFC) an...
