The new scanner must fit within the animal room allotted for imaging (4' x 6' ft2) along with the other required equipment for caring for the animals during the procedure.Project RequirementsThe PET/CT system must meet, at a minimum, the following technical requirements:1. Due to size limitations where this equipment will be housed, the maximum footprint for the PET/CT system is 6' x 6' x 6'2.

The mobile unit must have an intercom system between the control room and scanning room. CT Scanner: The CT scanner must be at minimum a 64-slice, full body CT scanner system capable of performing a wide range of scans such as, but not limited to: Neuro, Ortho, Body, and Angiographic Imaging to include a CT Power Injector.

Scope of the project comprises the design, renovate and intended to allow the facility to more effectively address new design layout to include 2 new CT scanner rooms, waiting area, control rooms, and associated supportive spaces. The PET/CT imaging equipment will be located in a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) animal facility and must have sufficient resolution and speed to image 0.2 mm anatomic structures in animals as big as Rhesus macaques and adult New Zealand White (NZW) rabbits. The new scanner must fit within the animal room allotted for imaging (4' x 6" ft2) along with the other required equipment for caring for the animals during the procedures.
