The purpose of this study is to evaluate the benefits and costs of different mitigation strategies, both non-structural and structural, to reduce flooding impacts to local businesses and residences in and adjacent to the Salt Creek floodplain in the City of Lincoln. This study will evaluate the feasibility of potential strategies to effectively reduce and mitigate current flood risk, as well as future flood risk based on climate change.
The overall goal is to provide engineering consulting services in the development of a capital planning study to investigate the community’s long-term needs in the planning of infrastructure, housing and subdivisions, recreational facilities, institutional and service-type buildings, as well as commercial developments. As a provisional item, a school feasibility study will be included as part of this Request for Proposals (RFP).
