Synopsis for the proposed Renourishment of Fire Island Inlet to Moriches Inlet (FIMI) Reach PIR 2024 PL 84-99 – Ocean Bay Park to Davis Park, New YorkThe New York District (NAN) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) proposes to perform renourishment work for the repair and restoration of the Fire Island Inlet to Moriches Inlet (FIMI) Reach from Ocean Bay Park to Davis Park.
The storms caused significant coastal damage along this portion of the project, and this emergency stabilization project is the proposed rehabilitation effort under P.L 84-99.The current condition is approximately as vulnerable as the pre-project (Post-Sandy, 2012) condition.
