NCTD intends to procure fluid analysis services for all of the above modes. NCTD intends to use the fluid analysis to monitor fleet power train equipment and systems, and to evaluate the effectiveness of its preventative maintenance programs and practices. Fluid samples and the analysis will be reviewed, tracked and trended so that NCTD has an overview of vehicle performance and wear cycles.

The Expeditionary Fluid Analysis System (EFAS) is a type of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment used to modernize oil analysis. The EFAS will be a rugged and portable test instrument operable from both 120/240 VAC and battery power. The EFAS will be capable of conducting real time at-platform testing of engine oil and lubricating fluids from all aircraft operated by the USAF.
