This is a redacted Justification and Approval document for other than full and open competition to support the Egress Feasibility Demonstration. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Human Systems Program Office, AFLCMC/WNU, awarded two (2) contracts on a sole source basis to UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) and Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Ltd (MB) for the FY17 Egress Feasibility Study.

This hardware format is too large to be integrated with many Air Force platforms, and the Air Force is exploring the feasibility of implementing the Terminal Modem (TM) Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) portion of PATS as in a MIL 1/2 Air Transport Rack (ATR) or similar form factor, suitable for integration into an airborne terminal and suitable for operation in flight.

PURPOSE/DESCRIPTIONThis Sources Sought Synopsis is solely for information and planning purposes in support of market research being conducted by the United States Space Force (USSF) to identify 1) the feasibility and 2) potential sources for conducting Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) as a Service.  This sources sought announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the USSF to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract.
