Iowa State University is soliciting quotations to remove asbestos containing materials in conjunction with the Forestry Greenhouse Demolition project. The Forestry Greenhouse is located at 904 Wallace Road on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames, IA. Contractors should read all materials and review all dates carefully. All questions should be submitted in the online bidding system under the questions tab.
The objective of the project is to demolish the greenhouse and attached ancillary building. The work is to be performed in San Francisco, CA. The Engineer's estimate is $4,500,000. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B.

MCA is the lowest price, technically acceptable bidder. Lanterra was the lowest bidder, but they failed to supply a technical proposal of any kind, therefore their proposal is technically unacceptable. Williamsville Resources II LLC provided a technical proposal that was marginal at best due to the fact that they merely copied sections from the SOW. It was noted that when they were cutting and pasting from the SOW, they actually deleted the part in the SOW that referred to asbestos containing materials that are present on B-34 and the requisite abatement. Due to this major omission, I consider this proposal technically unacceptable. Gold Wave proposal was found to be technically acceptable.
