The Naval Air Systems Command Patuxent River (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to award a contract to procure Radio Frequency Blanking Units (RFBU) production units and logistics support documentation. EA-18G, F/A-18E, and F/A-18F currently have Enhanced Interference Blanking Units (EIBU) that are obsolete and need to be replaced.
This JO will procure repair services to support the standup of a repair depot facility at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) for the Radio Frequency Blanking Unit (RFBU) and its variants and derivative systems.
(MNI), Melbourne, Florida, to procure Radio Frequency Blanking Units (RFBUs) production and retrofit requirements in support of F/A-18E/F and EA-18G airframe change modification kits. Added: Mar 04, 2019 5:29 pm The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, has awarded firm-fixed-price contract N00019-19-C-0017 to Mnemonics Inc.,* Melbourne, Florida, to procure 109 radio frequency blanking units and associated special test equipment in support of F/A-18E/F/G aircraft production and the retrofit of all existing EA-18G aircraft.
PROGRAM BACKGROUNDThe Radio Frequency Blanking Unit (RFBU) is being retrofit to fleet aircraft and the Navy needs to update associated drawings, logistics product data, publications, and technical directives. REQUIRED CAPABILITIESRequirements include familiarity with the design, configuration and integration of EA-18G aircraft.
This contract action will be for procurement of approximately 417 Radio Frequency Blanking Units (RFBU) to replace Enhanced Interference Blanking Units (EIBU) in FA/18 E and F Block II aircraft.
