Project DescriptionThe East Gallery Renovation shall provide architectural, mechanical and electrical renovation of the interior east gallery space, including new reinforced walls with new finishes, new baseboards, new ceilings and refinished wood flooring. The temporary interior walls shall be removed to provide an open flexible space. The new walls shall match the detailing as in the Noel gallery. The drywall finish shall be level 5.
Patch and prep as needed interior walls. Applying 2 coats of appropriate paint for exterior surfaces and interior surfaces. Brick and non-painted surfaces to be protected from paint drips or overspray.
Painter Diversity Initiative project objective is to design and construct an integrated set of Painter Hall (PAI) exterior and interior renovations/memorials, to include a gallery space that recognizes and honors the historical significance of Heman Sweatt’s successful struggle to achieve admission to the UT Law School. The gallery space will contain a modern digital exhibit that places in context the importance of the Sweatt v.
