The International Rett Syndrome Foundationaims to accelerate full spectrum research to cure Rett Syndrome and empower families with information, knowledge, and connectivity.Rett Syndrome is a rare genetic neurological disorder that leads to severe impairments, affecting nearly every aspect of life, particularly speech, purposeful hand use, and coordination, leaving individuals understanding more than they can communicate.

The principal approach TAIU employs for identification of therapeutic targets is to identify and characterize inherited, or acquired, genetic disorders and traits that promote severe allergic inflammation and reactions.

This effort is expected to involve a functionally integrated, multi-disciplinary team that will continue to manage broad sharing of biospecimens and data resources through a single, centralized, national resource to advance basic and translational research in the genetics of mental disorders.

The products manufactured by the laboratory are used to treat NIH CC patients with cancer, hematological malignancies, marrow failure, genetic immune disorders and autoimmune diseases. All products are manufactured using good manufacturing practices (GMP). The NIH protocols are institutional review board (IRB) approved and in the case of INDs, approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treatment of human subjects.
