Project Scope Includes: The project consists of removal of existing pedestrian bridge decking, guardrails and approach and replacing the decking, guardrail and approach. The improvements include removal of a portion of the existing greenway trail, installation concrete approach, bridge approach rails and removal and replacement of any signs.

The greenway will consist of concrete trail, pedestrian bridges, and landscaping. In addition, pavement markings will be installed along existing asphalt roads to provide bike traffic from the end of the greenway trail near Mallard Point Park to the intersection of Sanders Ferry Road and Waters Edge Lane. The project includes 12,672 LF (2.44 miles) of new greenway trail (asphalt and concrete), 180 LF prefabricated pedestrian bridges, and 154 LF of boardwalk. The project includes +/‐ 2.4 miles of new greenway trail (asphalt, concrete, and boardwalk) with public access connections, swale bridges, culverts, modular block retaining wall, and two (2) pre‐fabricated bridges of varying spans. Oakdale Road and Primm Road (NCDOT) improvements, trail head parking area, associated storm drainage, restroom building (with associated utilities), and water quality/detention pond (bioretention).

This project is for planning and preliminary design of pedestrian bridge at Stafford Drive over Highway 3 and CP Railway. It will also evaluate widening the sidewalk from 3 Avenue North to and across Highway 3 and CP Rail to 1st Avenue South tying into the 2009 Cycling Corridor Function Plan.
