DLA operates a variety of radio communication systems and equipment at several DLA locations throughout the world, such as ASTRO25 Trunked Systems. Given the criticality of these communications systems to daily operational functions, DLA must ensure that all trunked radio equipment is functioning at all times. The primary means of communications for DLA Emergency Services is the Trunked Radio System.

The Directorate of Operations (DoO) has over 137 handheld radios, 40 mobile radios, 4 desktop radios, and 47 vehicles with emergency equipment that needs to be repaired or services when the equipment no longer functions property. The vehicle is replaced, and the radios and equipment need to be removed from the vehicle being turned in and installed into the new vehicles. Equipment that malfunction needs to be repaired to keep operational.
